Former footballer Patrice Evra has launched a platform called Player, aimed at supporting footballers both on and off the pitch. This platform is designed as a social network that connects players with managers, coaches, and brands. Its goal is to help lesser-known or undiscovered players promote their careers.
Users can upload their stats, match videos, and highlights to make themselves visible and seize new contract opportunities. Player is said to offer LinkedIn-style functionality, allowing footballers to plan their careers, secure sponsorship deals, and even find post-retirement job opportunities. The platform is expected to be available to everyone by 2025. Evra explained that the reason behind developing this platform stems from his own experience of needing such a tool during the early stages of his career when he had limited access to football academies.
